Biography of Me

I am a Sophomore at Bob Jones University.

First and foremost, though, I am a Christian. Not a hypocritical, God-doesn’t-care-how-you-act Christian, nor a fire-and-brimstone holier-than-thou stoic who never does anything fun. No, I try to be a real God-follower, saved only by Christ’s blood, free from the punishment of sin through God’s mercy, someday going to heaven by God’s grace. That said, this blog will not be one large tract. While I will mainly post on what’s going on here in the bubble of BJ, I do, however, reserve the right to periodically give praise to my Maker.

Second, I’m studying a variety of topics ranging from Computer Science to Interpretative Speech. My major is Bible (what else would you expect from a pastor-to-be?) and my minor is Speech. A pastor should know his Bible, after all, and what good is a preacher who can’t preach well!?

Third, I’m an avid programmer. My programs range from games with basic AI to CMS’s to complex database applications. My current projects include an email program for children that helps kids learn the fundamentals of email while parents can monitor for safety reasons (codenamed KidTalk) and a student management system that helps schools (homeschool, public, or private) manage student grades and print transcripts (iTeacher). I use a variety of languages, ranging from the now-powerful Visual Basic.NET, C#, C & C++, Delphi (ObjectPascal), PHP, Javascript, etc.

Fourth, and rapidly diminishing in time and effort, I manage the Live Action RolePlaying (LARP) game Heroic Ventures, which has been in beta for several years now. Someday I hope to release it as a workable system. It includes such venerable characters as Wraith Daquell, Aeden, the late Dairus, Quentin and Varin the Quester, and the Davian lands of the Whertonne Waste and Fhenbrook. The map is antiquated and needs much work. I love to roleplay clean games; before I was called into the ministry, my career ambition was to program for Microsoft Game Studios. Since my career-path has changed, I’ve launched a novel-in-progress to churn out some of the gaming material I worked on for so many years.
